How to update Galaxy Note 4 to Android 6.0 Marshmallow via CyanogenMod 13 ROM

Galaxy Note 4 can now be updated to Android 6.0 Marshmallow via newly released CyanogenMod 13 (CM13) ROM from the industrious Cyanogenmod team. The CM13 ROM can be flashed using custom recovery tool like TWRP. You can also flash the Google Apps or Gapps, after installing the developer created blobs.

ROM is still under development, it may harbour a few untested bugs or broken features which will be fixed with the forthcoming updates in the future.

Prerequisites:
  • The CM13 ROM is supported only on the Galaxy Note 4. Do not attempt this procedure on any other device or model.
  • Ensure TWRP recovery is installed and bootloader is unlocked on the device.
  • Verify that the correct USB drivers are installed on the computer to enable transfer of ROM and Gapps to the device's internal storage.
  • The device must have at least 80% battery charge before you begin installing the firmware. This is to prevent unexpected device shutdown during the process.
  • Back up your important data and settings on the device to prevent accidental data loss during the firmware installation.
